Future Generation Nepal

Covid-19 Response

In 2020, Nepal imposed 5-month long nationwide lockdown to control the Covid-19 outbreak. Lack of quarantine facilities and resources to respond to the outbreak, Covid cases crossed over 200,000, and over 1500 reported death from the virus as of December 2020. The continuous lockdown caused unexpected and widespread interruption of economic activities in every sector.  The majority of daily wages earner in Kathmandu ran out of their savings and struggled to feed their children. In the beginning, Future Generation Nepal supported 32 families. With support from our funding partner Next Generation Nepal, we were able to support 100 more families and their children with much-needed relief support including food, supplies, and hygiene kits to survive the Covid-19 crisis and not be at risk to traffickers during these harsh times.
